Embodying the MPI ethos of dedication, Islam’s career has spanned 25 years and every facet in the parking industry. Founding MPI in 1994, Islam has successfully led the company from start-up operations. Today MPI is one of the top three parking management companies in Southern California, with over 61 million in annual sales and one of the most experienced, committed and stable management teams in the industry.
Islam’s management experience includes oversight of parking operations of hotels, retail centers, entertainment centers, office buildings, medical office buildings, hospitals, and municipal facilities. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Pacific States University.
Gary Pitts

Recognized as one of the top operations directors in the industry, Pitts has managed development and operations for over 25 years. Initiating his career at Wolff, Sesnon, and Buttery, Pitts went on to oversee operations of over 100 parking facilities in Southern California, including the Hilton Burbank Airport, the Arco Towers, and the Wells Fargo Center in Los Angeles. Today he oversees MPI operations for over 150 parking locations.
Lori R. Pinson

With a broad range of management experience spanning 23 years and expertise in contract management and administrative compliance, Pinson has specialized in the parking industry for 15 years. She has provided management and consulting services to many public and private firms, and is experienced in design and development of business systems, including parking revenue management and reporting.
Prior to joining MPI, Pinson successfully guided the creation of a world-class data processing center, served as Director and Chairman of the Board of a systems consulting venture in San Francisco, and managed implementation of complex systems for major firms throughout the Southwest as a management consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.
Edwin J. Kaftal

Kaftal has an impressive career spanning over 45 years in corporate accounting and management, and his expertise in guiding businesses towards increased profitability and success is invaluable.
Kaftal has performed independent consulting to public and private enterprises since 1993. Prior to this, he served as Chief Operations Officer for AirShield, Inc., where he directed a complete restructuring of the firm. From 1982-1991, Kaftal was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of 3D Systems, Inc., where he successfully guided the company through it’s IPO. Prior to his executive service, he was a partner in several accounting firms, including Touche/Ross (now Deloitte and Touche). Kaftal has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from UCLA, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California.

Manuel Rubio
Vice President, Quality and Revenue

A highly respected professional in the conduct of parking operations audits, Rubio has 25 years of experience in the industry. Overseeing all audit projects for MPI, Rubio leads the department in conducting cashier audits, monthly parking sales audits, key card audits, and unannounced inventories, and provides reporting that produces superior results. Prior to joining MPI, he served as a leading executive for a major national parking firm. He has directed several studies, including parking supply and demand, financial feasibility, and revenue control.
Rubio has also authored a chapter entitled “Basics of Auditing,” included in Parking Management, The Next Level, by the International Parking Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.
Dolan Islam

With over 20 years of parking industry experience and executive management of over 40 locations, Islam is experienced as the team leader for operations development at MPI. He leads the development of MPI’s in-house parking manager, attendant, and cashier training programs, and has extensive experience collaborating with and meeting the needs of property owners, property management, and municipalities.
Thomas Hall

An expert in all Human Resource programs, actions, and claims related to the parking industry, Hall brings 28 years of experience working for various major parking companies and supervising Human Resources and claims management for over 600 parking facilities. In addition, he has been responsible for developing corporate handbooks and employee training, benefits and liability issues, insurance, and union negotiations.
Mike Rahimi

Rahimi has over 26 years of parking industry experience, and brings to MPI superior executive level and supervisory management. With a thorough knowledge of parking equipment technology, Rahimi directs the implementation of new systems. In addition, he has successfully orchestrated parking operations for major events including the Pasadena Tournament of Roses, the Long Beach Grand Prix, and the Forum. Rahimi holds a Master’s in Industrial Management from Northern Illinois University.
